  • I really miss the comforts of home.

Harry just came back from a vacation in Africa.  He told his friend how badly he had missed the comforts of home.

Gabby: Hi, Harry, it's great to see you again.  I heard you've traveled a lot recently.

Harry: Yeah.  In the past three months I traveled to many countries in Africa.

Gabby: Well, I really envy you!  Did you pet a hyena?  (Harry is dumbfounded.)  I'm just kidding.

Harry: Well, I didn't pet a hyena, but I was once chased by a rhino, and it was fun!

    Gabby: Are you serious?

    Harry: No.  I'm just kidding.

Gabby: You really scared the heck out of me.

Harry: (Laughing....)  Well, I really missed the comforts of home.  Now I just want to take a break.  A long break!

    • My alarm clock didn't go off this morning.

Rosie overslept because her alarm clock didn't go off this morning.... .

Rosie: Sorry, I overslept.  My clock didn't go off this morning.

    Francie: Again?

Rosie: That's right, even though I did set the alarm last night.

Francie: Your clock never works.  Perhaps you should buy a new one.

Rosie: Well, if it breaks down again tomorrow, I'll definitely buy a new one.

Francie: Maybe by then it'll be too late.

Rosie: What do you mean "too late"?

Francie: By that time you'll be fired.

    • Don't forget to drop me a line!

Ryan finds a new job in New York and is about to move there. He doesn't want his friendship with Adriana to drift apart.  He wants to keep in touch.

Adriana: I heard you're moving to New York.

Ryan: Yes.  I've got an offer in upstate New York.

Adriana: Oh, that's great!  But I'm going to miss you.

Ryan: Me, too.  Let's keep in touch.

Adriana: Yeah.  Don't forget to drop me a line when you settle down.

Ryan: Trust me.  I won't. I'll keep you posted.

    Adriana: You have my address?

Ryan: Well, I have your e-mail address.

Adriana: All right!  I look forward to hearing from you soon.  Good luck!
